Congratulations to Lady Bankes Junior School

The school had its Ofsted Inspection on April 25th. and 26th. At their previous inspection in October 2014 the school was graded as "Requires Improvement". However, since then the previous Head Teacher left at Easter 2015 after which the school had an interim Head. In September 2016 a new Head Teacher, Mrs Kate Needs, (previously Deputy Head Teacher) was appointed to the post, much to the delight of pupils, parents and governors.

Left to Right: Mrs. Dyer, Mrs. Tuffey, Mrs. Needs
Since that time Mrs. Needs has worked tirelessly to continue the work of Mr. Ivor Johnstone (Interim Head) with whom she worked closely.

Thanks to her efforts and with the support of her staff, Mrs. Lea Tuffey (previous Infant Head Teacher), Mrs. Susan Dyer, Infant Head Teacher and her staff as well as the Governing Body the school was graded as GOOD in all areas: i.e. Overall Effectiveness, Effectiveness of leadership and management, Quality of teaching, learning and assessment, Personal development, behaviour and welfare and Outcomes for Pupils.

This was a well deserved reward for all the hard work contributed by all the parties involved. Mrs. Needs is working in close co-operation with Mrs. Dyer supported by the Governing Body to achieve their target to take the Junior School to OUTSTANDING which was the grading for the Infant School in their last Ofsted Inspection.

Congratulations to all concerned!
