Fly-Tipping – Is it on the increase in Ruislip and Eastcote?

On the night of 30/31 October a tipper truck was driven into Hale End Close, Ruislip, and the driver dumped rubbish blocking the width of the road over a distance of some 20 metres and obstructing the exit for some twenty cars.  Hillingdon Council's 24-hour emergency team sent a clean-up team and the rubbish was cleared by 2.00 am.

There have recently been other incidents of fly-tipping in residential streets in the Ruislip area.  The Council reminded residents that if rubbish is tipped on private land it is the landowner's responsibility to clear it up, and to inform environmental health.
