48 High Street (Post Office)

A planning application for change of use from Class A2 (Financial and Professional Services) to Class C (Residential) to create four studio and one 1 bedroom flat, involving a first floor rear extension, raising of ground floor roof to rear and alterations to existing elevations as part of the Post Office site was refused by local planners on 12 May. As this proposal could have been considered commercial exploitation of the site and set precedents elsewhere we are in favour of the decision.
