Gradually Ruislip is returning to normal after the pandemic. Our autumn meeting will once again be held in Winston Churchill Hall and as you will see in the printed Town Crier, theatrical performances and concerts are returning to the theatre, with Young Frankenstein, Children of Eden and Me and My Girl all being performed in the next couple of months. The RAF’s concert series Esprit de Corps is also coming back to Ruislip.
In June, Ruislip joined in the celebrations of HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with parties, flags, banners and the magnificent postbox topper shown on the cover. We’ve collected some memories of previous Royal events and you can read them in this special feature..
HS2 has a major milestone in Ruislip with the launch of the two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) scheduled for September. You can read more about this in our September 2022 HS2 update. There are also a number of road closures and lane restrictions due to HS2 work. We will continue to monitor HS2’s affect on our community and work to mitigate it.
The local elections in May saw Ruislip go from three wards to two new wards, Ruislip and Ruislip Manor. Two of our councillors, Michael Markham and Devi Radia, stood down and Peter Smallwood was elected as the third Ruislip councillor. Our three East Ruislip councillors were relected in the new Eastcote ward. You can read Cllr Riley’s piece here.
The hospitals are also getting back to normal, with regular visiting returning, without the need to book. We have a talk about the new Hillingdon Hospital at our next meeting and information about the new “board in common” for north west London in Health Matters.

We rely on your subscriptions to pay for the running of the association, including printing the Town Crier, so please take a few moments to try out the online system.
I hope to see as many of you as possible at our meeting in September, but in the meantime if you see me on the High Street feel free to stop me for a chat!
