Hardip, a local resident, is holding a talk at Ruislip Manor Library on Saturday 22nd March. Tickets are free.
He wrote to us to say:
The UK is moving towards a future where new petrol and diesel cars will nolonger be available to buy. Given that there are over 35 million cars on UKroads and only around 1 million of these are electric, is this realistic?
A YouGov survey last year found that drivers of petrol and diesel cars couldonly answer 2 out of 10 questions about electric vehicles correctly. Much ofwhat these drivers thought was driven by misinformation. The problem is soserious it was even mentioned in a House of Lords report.
So what is true about electric vehicles?
Are they:
• better for the environment?
• cheaper to run?
• more expensive to buy?
• safe?
• long-lasting?
• suitable for all types of driver?
The truth may surprise you! Find out more in this interesting 1 hour talk and Q&A where you can hear the arguments for and against, and discover how, when and if you should make the switch to an electric vehicle.
Hardip’s talk will start at 15:00 in Ruislip Manor Library on Saturday 22 March.
